Mobile home insurance

Unique home-specific protection

Similar to homeowners insurance, mobile home insurance offers customised protection for your manufactured home. United valuable insurance can tailor a coverage to your property’s needs, whether you need manufactured house insurance or modular home insurance.

Mobile home types

characteristics of modular homes

  • Constructed off-site in a factory and then delivered to a particular place
  • Rather than being anchored, it might be on a permanent foundation.
  • Can be installed on a crawlspace or basement
  • There could be several levels.
  • Produced in accordance with state and municipal construction regulations.

Features of manufactured homes

  • Built on a single level, moveable steel chassis.
  • Constructed in parts and wheeled to the construction site
  • Site-built homes are typically less expensive per square foot.
  • Can be installed on a crawlspace or basement
  • Constructed in accordance with federal (HUD) building codes

Insurance protections for mobile homes

Standard Coverage

The majority of policies for mobile/modular homes provide the following protections:

Dwelling

Dwelling coverage assists with structural repairs or replacement if a covered risk damages your house.

Example: A hailstorm causes damage to the roof of your home. If necessary, your roof can be repaired or replaced thanks to your home insurance coverage.

Belongings

If lost or destroyed in a covered incident, your personal property, such as furniture, appliances, clothing, and gadgets, is covered up to a predetermined limit. Remember that if you own jewels, pricey art, or any other valuables, you might need to “schedule” them on your policy.

Example: Your laptop is taken during a spate of break-ins in your area. You are protected up to the coverage limits of your insurance and for the laptop’s actual cash value, less any applicable deductible.

Liability

Personal liability insurance can protect you up to your policy’s limits if a household member causes someone else’s harm or property damage.

Example: While playing soccer in the front yard, your kids unintentionally kick the ball through the stained-glass window of your neighbour. The replacement of the window will be covered by liability insurance, up to your policy’s maximums.

losing use

Loss of use coverage, also referred to as “extra living expenses,” can cover meal and lodging expenditures if a covered loss prevents you from residing in your home.

Example: A burst pipe causes water damage to your modular home, necessitating three weeks of hotel accommodations while the damage is repaired. Up to the limitations of your coverage, your loss of use insurance will pay the lodging bill.

Extra Coverage

You might be able to add additional Coverage, such as:

Coverage for replacement costs

Defend your house and your possessions from depreciation. You can get the money you need to fix or replace what is broken with the optional replacement cost coverage, keeping the value intact.

Example: Your mobile home, which you paid $140,000 for ten years ago, is completely destroyed by a fire. The typical policy reimburses you for the home’s $120,000 real cash worth, which takes depreciation into account. However, if you have replacement cost coverage, your insurance will pay up to the $140,000 purchase price if the damage is too severe to repair and you need to rebuild your house with the same quality.

Travel collision insurance

Protect your home against any collision-related harm while it is in motion. Coverage is limited to a single move during a given 30-day window.

An illustration of this would be if a moving truck were to strike your house while it was being moved. Up to the limits of your insurance, trip collision coverage can cover any structural damage to your home.

Single deductible benefit

If you combine your UPI mobile home and auto insurance and a claim arises on both, you are just accountable for one deductible. If both insurance weren’t with UPI, you’d have to cover two different deductibles. Only specific states are eligible for this perk.

As an illustration, a hailstorm harms your automobile and home’s roof. Your car insurance, assuming you have comprehensive coverage, will cover damage to your car, and your mobile home insurance will cover roof repairs. If both plans have a $500 deductible, you only need to pay one deductible and both will be fixed.
