SOME OF OUR COVERAGES

Replacement for the full loss.

If your RV is five model years old or fewer, we’ll replace your totaled travel trailer or motorhome with a brand-new one, less your deductible. Your policy’s maximum payout applies if your RV is more than five model years old.

For instance, even if the replacement vehicle costs more than the original vehicle’s purchase price, we’ll pay to replace your damaged RV with one that is the same model year or later, and one that is of equal or higher trim level, or better.

Replacement price/individual impacts

Up to the limitations you specify, personal property inside your motorhome or travel trailer is insured.

An illustration would be if you accidently back your trailer into a picnic table, breaking your tablet and phone. Up to the limitations of your policy, your insurance will cover the cost of replacing the products.

Unexpected cost

We’ll pay up to $750 of your transportation and lodging expenses if your RV is disabled as a consequence of a covered incident and you’re more than 50 miles from home (you can increase your coverage to $2000).

An accident on the highway disables your RV and damages it when you are more than 100 miles from home. While your RV is being repaired, we’ll contribute to the cost of your hotel stay and rental car up to the limitations of your policy.

Common inquiries regarding RV insurance

What is the price of RV insurance?

UPI’s annual policies are still reasonably priced, but the cost of your RV and travel trailer insurance will vary depending on a number of criteria, including:

  • RV insurance is generally determined by the manufacturer, model, and year of your vehicle. • Type, age, and condition An older, more compact travel trailer will be less expensive to insure than a more recent, cutting-edge motorhome. Similar to how a pop-up camper will cost more than a state-of-the-art conventional travel trailer.
  • Usage: The frequency of use of your RV will also have an impact on the price of insurance. Your coverages and rate will be different from someone who only uses their motorhome or travel trailer a few weekends a year if your RV is your primary abode. Find out more about permanent RV insurance.
  • Driving history: When it comes to RV insurance, a spotless driving record is very important. Your premium will probably be impacted by past accidents or tickets on your driving record.

Is travel trailer insurance necessary?

No state requires you to have insurance on a vehicle you tow behind a car or truck because you aren’t driving your travel trailer. Your lender may need comprehensive and collision coverage if you’re financing the travel trailer in order to protect it from physical harm.

Does UPI cover destination trailers and horse trailers?

Yes. Like regular travel trailers, we also cover destination trailers. Up to $50,000 can be insured for horse trailers.
